... and a few more

... but tech stuff!

I've been updating the Telecommunications Virtual Museum and working on a site for a doughnut shop. I've also written my own Tetris-style game (for my own amusement and to begin developing game programming skills). What next? Space Invaders? Breakout? Pac-man? ;P

Thanks to ...

I've discovered that I've been credited in another book: Rick Steves' Travel as a Political Act. I’ve also been acknowledged in Molly Ivins: A Rebel Life by Bill Minutaglio & W. Michael Smith. Thank you!

As anyone who twists my arm knows, I can easily grouse about not being mentioned in the credits or acknowledgments of the books I proof--not really because I feel I need to be, but I'm always reading long lists of thank-yous to the publisher, the project editor, the book designer, the copy editor, the went-and-got-you-a-cup-of-coffee editor, but only rarely does the proofreader get a mention. The real reason for this is that the author has no idea (most of the time) who the proofer is, and the acknowledgments have already been written, but I can flatter myself by thinking I might be included someday ...

Well, sometimes I am included, and I appreciate it!

Adding to the list of current projects. These are all through GGS Higher Education Services/PreMedia Global.

  • Environmental Science: Toward a Sustainable Future, 11th ed, Richard T. Wright, Prentice Hall/Pearson Education
  • Getting Started with Geographic Information Systems, 5th ed, Keith C. Clarke, Prentice Hall/Pearson Education
  • Principles of Risk Management and Insurance, 11th ed, George E. Rejda, Pearson Education

Not all projects are listed--sometimes I don't know the full info on a book title until later in the project, and sometimes things are hush-hush until publication.
