Permalink 02:42:49 am, Categories: Publishing, 104 words

It's been awhile ... sorry! There wasn't much to update, and then suddenly too much to do. It's been an odd year so far.

  • Tiger: The Real Story, Steve Helling, Da Capo Press
  • Thriller: The Musical Life of Michael Jackson, Nelson George, Da Capo Press
  • Landmark: The Inside Story of America’s New Health-Care Law
and What It Means for Us All
, Washington Post staff, PublicAffairs Press
  • Major Problems in the Civil War and Reconstruction, 3rd ed., edited by Michael Perman and Thomas Paterson, Wadsworth/Cengage
  • Exploring Microsoft Office 2010, Grauer et al., Pearson IT
  • Web updates for the Telecommunications History Group
  • and others, many others ...

And finally have time to update.

  • Power in Numbers: UNITAID, Innovative Financing, and the Quest for Massive Good, Philippe Douste-Blazy and Daniel Altman, with a preface by Bill Clinton, PublicAffairs Press
  • The Winner's Brain, Jeff Brown and Mark Fenske,
with Liz Neporent, Da Capo Press
  • Baseball Prospectus 2010, Steven Goldman and Christina Kahrl, eds., John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
  • Libertarianism from A to Z, Jeffrey A. Miron, Basic Books
  • and others ...

I'm also beginning work on an RPG, but it's in only the very beginning stages.

Tech stuff

I've done a few updates for the Telecommunications History Group site (added a newsletter, other little fixes) and for apartmentinalghero.co.uk (updated the calendar functionality).

In game development (which in this case means "Learning to do it" rather than "Comes up with incredible new game"), I've created versions of Breakout and Space Invaders using VB.net and DirectX, and then translated Space Invaders to C# and XNA. (XNA allows development for Windows or the XBox.)

November pub work

Permalink 03:11:29 pm, Categories: Publishing, 69 words

Pubs for November:

  • Conspirator: Lenin in Exile, Helen Rappaport, Basic Books
  • Defining Conservatism, Jonathan Krohn, Vanguard Press
  • The Clean Fuels and Electric Vehicles Report, Dec. 2009, Energy Futures, Inc.
  • Proofing text for Web site, business cards, designcolon.com

There are various other projects for which I didn't proof an entire book, just bits, or for which I did some other work (such as finding page numbers for trailing phrase notes).
